Lower Endzone (Football) Seating
The 100 level seats at Dignity Health Sports Park are much lower to the field than at most football stadiums. For fans sitting in corner and sideline sections, this creates difficulties seeing over the players and coaches.
In the endzone sections; however, this low-to-ground setup creates one of the more desirable seating locations for diehard fans. Not only will these seats be at field level, they're closer to the field than any other 100s sections.
While seats from either endzone will provide equitable views of the field, the seats differ in their exposure to the elements. Sections 119-124 will be the sunniest seats for a SDSU game. Meanwhile, the roof-line extends over some sections on the south side of the stadium. That combined with a sun that will set behind sections 101-105 will keep south endzone sections less exposed to the elements.
Lower Sideline (Football) Seating
When looking at the San Diego State seating chart, the most expensive seats are in the 100 level sections along the sidelines. Each of these sections include chairback seats within 25 rows of the field.
When comparing east sideline seats to west sideline seats, a slight edge goes to sections 108-114. These sections are less susceptible to the sun than sections 129-135.
If avoiding the sun is your primary objective, almost all seats on along the west sideline will be mostly shaded for afternoon kickoffs. In sections on the visitor side of the field, Rows M and above see the best overhead cover, but you may want to sit even a few rows higher to guarantee yourself some shade.
Sitting Here for Football
Its primary use as a soccer stadium leaves extra room between the first row of seats and the field of play. Additionally, the front rows have minimal elevation over the players and coaches.
In fact, a number of the lower rows in these sections are being listed as obstructed seats. There aren't any structural obstructions, but seeing over the sideline will be difficult.
We encourage fans to purchase tickets in rows R and above, which will be better elevated, better protected from the sun and closer to the concourse.
Upper Sideline (Football) Seating
While seats in the lower level have the highest value, the best seats at Dignity Health Sports Park for football may very well be in sections 229-235 along the east sideline.
Each of these sections offers an unobstructed view of the field from an ideal elevation. With only 25 rows of seats in the lower level and with the front rows of these sections overhanging the lower bowl, these might actually be the best seats in all of football for seeing the action on the field. Fans will find comfortable views towards both ends of the field without being too high up.
In addition to a great view, fans will find ideal comfort in these sections. All seats include a chairback and armrest. And all of these seats are covered by the roof. While almost every row will provide a stellar experience, we recommend the first ten rows (AA-HH) for their slightly better views and because the top rows can feel a little closed-in due to the low roof line.
Lower Endline (Soccer) Seating
Sections 101-106 and 139-141 at Dignity Health Sports Park are all apart of the Lower Endline section. Right next to section 139 in the lower endline is the LA Riot Squad where you will find some of Los Angeles' most passionate soccer fans.
LA soccer fans can't go wrong with a seat in sections 101 or 142. These two sections offer the best view of the South goal.
Lower Sideline (Soccer) Seating
Lower sideline seats at Dignity Health Sports Park are all comprised of 26 rows. Sections 110-112 offer platinum seats which have extra padded cushion and incredible midfield views of the pitch. The Galaxy bench is located in front of section 110. Visitor bench in front of 112.
If you can't afford platinum seats it's comforting to know that all lower sideline seats have chairback seating and great views.
If you still want the lower sideline midfield views, but can't afford platinum seats, look no further than sections 131-133 on the east lower sideline.
Upper Endline (Soccer) Seating
Upper Endline seats at Dignity Health Sports Park will be among the cheapest tickets at the stadium. Sections 226 and 227 will offer an upper deck view of the North goal, but the views of the rest of the field won't be very good. Sections 237 and 238 are the same with the South goal.
If you are looking for a cheap ticket to simply experience the game these would be your best tickets. Each section is made of 18 rows.

Best Seats for Great Views of the Field
Beginning with the 2017 season, the Chargers will call the Health Sports Park (formerly StubHub Center) their home for a few seasons. The stadium is a stark contrast to Qualcomm Stadium, the Chargers' previous home in San Diego.
While Qualcomm Stadium handled up to 70,000 guests for football games, the StubHub Center only holds 27,000 fans. Because of its dual-purpose as a football and baseball venue, Qualcomm Stadium offered fans some of the worst sitelines in the NFL. The StubHub Center is also a dual-purpose venue - catering to the LA Galaxy of the MLS - but its overall intimacy leads to better views for a higher-proportion of fans.
One of the biggest issues with Qualcomm Stadium's lower level is that fans are pushed back too far from the field - and sit too low to the ground. Unfortunately, this will also be an issue at the Dignity Sports Park. Because soccer fields are roughly 20 yards wider than NFL fields, there will be a lot of extra space between the players on the sidelines and the first row of seating.
Recommended Seats in the Lower Level
Because the awe-factor of sitting the first few rows is greatly diminished, we recommend sitting in rows J-Z in the 100 level to maximize your view. These seats will give you 10+ rows of extra elevation, which makes it easier to see action on both sides of the field. As an added bonus, most of these seats are covered which can keep you cool or dry when the weather plays its tricks.
200 Level Seats
While most NFL venues have three or four decks of seating, Dignity Health Sports Park has just two decks of seating - and the second deck only wraps around one side of the field. The views from this "upper" level are similar to what you would find in club seating at other football venues. The seats are well-elevated and hang slightly over the lower bowl. This brings you closer to the field and gives you one of the best views in the NFL. The front rows in sections 230-234 are the best of the best, but we recommend just about any row in these sections for an outstanding view.
Shaded Views From the South Endzone
If sideline seating is a little out of your price range, you'll find cheaper Chargers tickets in the endzone sections. When looking at seats here, first consider sections in the South endzone (101-103, 140-142). The views of the field will be similar to what you get in the North endzone, but the sun won't be shining in your eyes, and you'll have a head-on look at the primary videoboard.
Overall, it's going to be tough to find a bad view at a stadium that's even smaller than every Major League ballpark. You'll never be more than 50 rows from the field, and you'll never have to walk more than 25 rows to your seats (and if you are walking that far, it's because you're sitting in the front row). Don't be scared off by seats in one of the upper rows in any sideline section. They will be cheaper than the lower rows, on average, and the view upgrade will be negligible.
Rows J-Z in Sections Section 110, Section 111, Section 112 and Section 131
- Outstanding views from between the 30-yardlines
- Enough elevation to comfortably see over the players on the sideline
- Close to the main concourse - located at the top of these sections
Sections Section 230, Section 231, Section 232 and Section 233
- Second deck seating at Dignity Health Sports Park is comparable to Club Level at other NFL venues
- Most comfortable side-to-side views in the entire stadium
- Chairback seating fully under cover adds to the comfort level
