I would like to know whether updating to IOS 16.7 or IOS 17 will cause any slowness on my device.
I'm currently using iPhone11

my iPhone 8 Plus got really, really slow after updating to iOS 16.7.7 now I need to replace it cause is useless. Apple's intentionally pulling this move to make folks buy their latest iPhone version

My iPhone 8 started lagging when I updated to 16.7.7. I have never had such lag! The device is nearly unusable bow

Updating to the latest software is always good for your phone and it does not slow down your device. Always keep your iOS up to date.

I turned off security response ls and system files! It seems to be ok now
