Hey all! I’ve been having a lot of issues on iOS 17.0.3. For reference I have a iPhone 11 and did not have any of these issues on previous iterations of iOS 17. I’ll list some of the issues below.

• Unresponse touch screen (lag and delays)

• Apps unresponsive (freezing & crashing)

• Keyboard lag (I’ll start typing but it takes the phone a few seconds to catch up)

• Stutter when opening app (when I’m switching between apps, there’s a split second of stutter - I want to say this existed in iOS 15 or 16?)

• Paste/select menu does not always pop up… I have to keep pressing on the screen to get the prompt

Anyone else having issues? Feel free to share any other issues you’ve come across. Thanks!

Yes! I have an iPhone 11 Pro and it has been freaking out ever since downloading the most recent update. I’m experiencing all the same problems you are - plus my phone freezes every time my alarm goes off in the morning and it won’t let me turn it off.

I have had to restart my phone almost every day because it keeps freezing.

also regretting the update to 17.0.3 (even though it's been approved by IT department)

-screen turns black for no reason

-unresponsive and huge lag

-battery drain is the worst - a 5min phone call and my phone screen turns black. only to reappear with a message that battery is below 10% to go to battery save mode

-battery surprise: jump from red battery status back to yellow

-trying to roll back from my iPhone back-up, but it doesn't roll-back the iOS version :(

"The only way to reinstall an older version of iOS is towipe the current one from your device. This also means that if you restore from a backup made after the update you will be putting the newer version of iOS back on to the device.Sep 20, 2023"

"Hi! I've been experiencing the same issues on my iPhone 11, especially the unresponsive lockscreen and the phone randomly freezing! I'm so annoyed by this situation but glad to see that I'm not alone in this! Hope they'll come up with a fix ASAP because I can't trust my phone now!"

Sure it's been mentioned plenty of times of these forums. Question is: "Just how many people have reported it to Apple?"

It's normal for your battery use to be higher for a few days after an update as your phone needs to rebuild all of its internal databases.

Bluetooth does use battery.

Regardless, the current version of iOS as I write is 17.2.1, not 17.0.3.

I was late to work this morning because my phone decided to go into one of the lag/nonresponsive thing they do in this iOS. I legitimately couldn’t shut off my phone for about 30 min of trying. My logins for work and everything relies on my phone so getting logged into work was really challenging.

This has been an ongoing issue with 17. The other big warning is when the camera and other apps won’t stay open when you try to use them.

When an iOS on an iPhone 13 can keep your alarm from working to wake you is just hard to swallow. Thank goodness my boss is forgiving.

This is nothing new for me. Exactly 1 year ago my IPad Air 4 after that January update started shutting down constantly for no apparent reason. I contacted Apple support and they started to put the blame to possible some program installed is the problem. That issue lasted for around 2 months then suddenly started working normally.

Once I updated to IOS 17 the same issue with shutting down started again.I installed 17.2 hopping for a fix but didn’t happen. Now with IOS 17.3 I have the same shutdowns like before. Battery sometimes gets so hot that I have to shut it down myself. I had since I installed iOS 17 over 1 thousand shutdowns. Is pretty much unusable for anything.

Probably this is a way for Apple to trash my battery/Ipad and go and buy a new IPad. Once the issue if fixed if it ever will I will never install another update. Just the security update will be on.I am very disappointed in Apple. My iPhone didn’t give any shutdowns only battery drain like every one has.

If you have Wi-Fi on your iPhone, switch it off and use data from your phone carrier and restart your iPhone. This worked for me. Now I’m having no unresponsive issues. This is a temporary fix. Let’s hope Apple solves the issue soon.

Just FYI, Apple does not and never has supported "rolling back" versions of iOS.

Most users have not seen any of the issues you report, so I would recommend you contact Apple Support directly:
