Not plugged in: The screen will turn off in 6 minutes. Your Chromebook will go to sleep in 10 minutes.
Unlock your screen faster with a PIN
Before you lock your screen, you can create a PIN to unlock your screen. If you use an account for work or school, your admin might require you to enter your password occasionally. On some Chromebooks, you can also use your PIN instead of your Google Account password to sign in.
To set up a PIN:
On your Chromebook, at the bottom right, select the time.
Select Settings .
Under "Security and Privacy," select Lock screen and sign-in.
Enter your password and select Confirm.
Select PIN or passwordSet up PIN.
Enter a PIN of six digits or more and select Continue.
Windows users can press Ctrl+Alt+Del and choose Lock from the list of options. You can also press the Windows key+L to lock your screen. If you're not a fan of keyboard shortcuts, you can also click the Start Menu icon, click your username and then click Lock.
You can set up a screen lock to help secure your Android phone or tablet from unauthorised access. Each time that you turn on your device or wake up the screen, you'll be asked to unlock your device, usually with a PIN, pattern or password. On some devices, you can unlock with your fingerprint.
PIN (Personal Identification Number):Users enter a numeric PIN code to unlock the device. This is a more secure option than swipe or pattern locks. Password:Users enter a password (a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols) to unlock the device. This provides a higher level of security.
If you are unable to remove the PIN setting from your device, it may be because an administrator is requiring it. You can revoke administrator access by going to settings > security > device administration and then unticking the box next to the apps on the list.
Swipe to the screen you want to change, tap Customize, then tap Lock Screen. Tap the time to change the font, color, and style. To add widgets that include information such as today's headlines, the weather, and calendar events, tap Add Widgets, the date, or the field below the time.
