There are very few people on here that have expressed that we had "plenty of", or "enough" size over the past few seasons - including before this season started. Obviously, they were wrong about that and will continue to be wrong about it in the future if they haven't learned anything. If you're weak around the basket at both ends of the court, if you have to consistently double-team the post defensively, your ceiling is much lower. Any decent team will take the double-team and pass the ball from the post out to an open 3-point shooter for a catch and shoot opportunity. Or they will simply turn and shoot over the smaller players themself.

The majority of us have stated many times that we were undersized both at the starting positions and with our depth - and that it was going to be hard to win games with that being the case. The poor overall coaching has only added to (and created) the problem of being undersized. Combine those two issues and this is what it ends up looking like - again.

Coaching, talented players, size, defense, and scoring wins games. The last 4 of those 5 things all go back to the coaching. The coach is responsible for getting talented and big enough players to win with. The coach is responsible with putting in an offensive and defensive system that he/she can be successful with - and with the players that he has. Jeff's half-court defense and rebounding first system requires tough minded and bigger players to best accomplish it, and to win games. After 15 games, ODU has nearly 70 less rebounds, 80 less assists, and has taken 80 less free throws than their opponents have gotten against them. That's not the ODU basketball that I have known and watched for decades.

Look again of the teams, they have played. Not counting the sunbelt, it’s not impressive. I have said this before, but a win today and definitely the home game with LA-Monroe.
